Learning any other language is a process that requires your willpower , desire(motivation), time and an effort. Whatever the promises are, learning a foreign language is not an easy task and it is not a fast process. Otherwise they are scammers .There are no languages easy to learn, no amazing techniques, no magic pills. Your success is your own motivation ,time which you devote to learning a particular language ,a good teacher and a good teaching material, a lot of stuff to go over, effective exercises. Naturally, there are some ways to manage to learn a language faster. Referring to my experience as teaching Russian as a foreign language I got a feeling that student face difficulties to say their very first phrases and it is also quite hard for them to hear and understand what the native speaker of Russian tries to tell them even if they had studied those phrases before. A lot of people are shy to speak because they don`t know how to use a correct case (nominative ,dative ,accusative, instrumental) although they have already studied the nominative case. Such mistakes scare them, they don`t want to be like a child who is tend to speak and read slowly.
I would like to tell you some inspirational things. Firstly, you are a very brave person who decided to learn a foreign language. You can be proud of yourself and never be shy.
Secondly, if you study Russian you will probably experience fear to speak because it will seem to you that Russian people are angry and gloomy who will not support you and will not be willing to listen to you or to help you. I `ve got a good news! Most Russians can look furious and not friendly but in fact they will try to understand and help you. It is true! Russians appreciate it when someone tries to learn their language and wants to practice. They will not judge you on not using the correct word ending (flexions of the words) or on not using the correct form of the verb or a verb tense. They will help you to say the words correctly. They will be very happy to do it. So ,do not be afraid and start practicing it !
So, here is some advice which can help you to learn Russian faster and you to be able to start speaking it!
1․ Learn some new words everyday (10 –15 words a day will be enough). How to learn them?
You can write down the new words on stickers and hang them all over the flat especially in places and things you frequently look at (a wall in front of your desk ,a door of a fridge, a mirror). You can also record it on and listen to it several time a day. Write down the words and translation in your exercise books and read them out several times a day, it also helps a lot.
2. If you are not in Russia and do not have to speak Russian to get by then you do not have to hurry . Let your tutor explain you Russian grammar in your native language if why we use a certain form of the verb here not the other form but do all the exercises in Russian.
3. At the beginning of language learning you can use your native language like a springboard in order to be able to speak Russian. If you need to build a sentence but you are in doubt how to say it in Russian, build it in your mind first in your native language and then translate it into Russian. Use this structure but try to get used to speak Russian, work on yourself ,practice it. Your teacher will correct your mistakes and eventually you will not need help of your native language. You will see and understand the logic of building Russian sentences and you will start to think in Russian.
